Albert Park / Radisson Heights

Albert Park / Radisson Heights is a community rich in history, resilience, and community spirit.

Originally envisioned in the early 1900s by developer Albert Smyth as an ambitious subdivision featuring parks, gardens, and recreational amenities, Albert Park–Radisson Heights has grown into one of Calgary’s most vibrant, diverse, and well-connected communities.

The neighbourhood developed over several decades, with Albert Park established between 1908 and 1950, followed by the development of Radisson Heights. Today, residents enjoy abundant green spaces and convenient access to major transportation corridors, transit, shopping, and nearby amenities. In addition, the community’s elevated location provides sweeping views of the Bow River Valley, downtown Calgary, and the Rocky Mountains.

At the heart of the neighbourhood is the Albert Park–Radisson Heights Community Centre, recognized by its vibrant mural and welcoming atmosphere. The centre serves as an important gathering place, offering recreation programs, community events, and spaces for neighbours to connect. Nearby, the popular Skate Shack provides even more opportunities for recreation, including shinny hockey, public skating, and youth activities throughout the year.

Beyond its parks and amenities, Albert Park–Radisson Heights is celebrated for its rich history and cultural diversity. At the same time, its established gathering places and active community organizations help create a strong sense of belonging for residents of all ages and backgrounds.

Today, Albert Park–Radisson Heights continues to honour its heritage while embracing the future. Together, its scenic views, green spaces, cultural diversity, recreation, and community spirit create a vibrant and welcoming place to call home.
