Established in 1969, Red Carpet is a small community located along Calgary’s eastern edge, bordered by 17 Avenue SE, 68 Street SE, and the CN rail corridor. Its compact size gives the neighbourhood a distinct identity while connecting residents to the businesses, services, and communities that make up east Calgary.
Red Carpet has a unique housing history and character, with a significant portion of the community developed around manufactured and mobile homes alongside apartments and condominiums. This mix has helped create a neighbourhood that offers different housing options within a relatively small area.
Immediately south of the community is Elliston Park, one of east Calgary’s major regional parks. Built around Elliston Lake, the park offers pathways, playgrounds, picnic areas, an off-leash area, gardens, and expansive green spaces. Its location gives Red Carpet residents exceptional access to outdoor recreation just steps from home.

The community is also well connected to International Avenue and the broader 17 Avenue SE corridor, providing convenient access to local restaurants, shops, services, and neighbouring communities. Major routes nearby make it easy to travel throughout east Calgary and connect with other parts of the city.

Today, Red Carpet remains a distinctive part of Ward 9, a small, established neighbourhood where residential life, access to green space, and the diversity and energy of east Calgary come together.
