Dover is a vibrant and diverse residential community in southeast Calgary. Annexed by The City of Calgary in 1961 and developed beginning in 1970, the neighbourhood was named after Mary Dover, a respected Calgary alderman, environmentalist, and daughter of A. E. Cross, one of Calgary’s original “Big Four.”

One of the community’s defining features is Valleyview Regional Park, offering beach volleyball courts, sports fields, a spray park, playgrounds, pathways, and impressive views of downtown Calgary and the Rocky Mountains. Nearby access to the Bow River Valley provides even more opportunities for walking, cycling, and outdoor recreation.

The Dover Community Association adds to the neighbourhood’s strong sense of connection through youth and family programs, recreation, skating, community celebrations, and local events. Schools, services, and established amenities throughout the area support residents of all ages.
